Video Production Club

Building digital confidence
through storytelling and creation
Fortitude Academy’s Video Production Club gives children the opportunity to explore how ideas become digital content through hands-on, creative projects. Designed for children aged 10 to 11 (Year 5 and Year 6), sessions focus on planning, collaboration, and problem-solving as children work together to shape stories, capture footage, and bring ideas to life.
Activities are practical, playful, and purposeful. Children develop confidence in thinking things through, making decisions, and working as part of a team, while engaging with the digital world in an active and thoughtful way.
Over time, children gain a clearer understanding of how digital content is created, from initial idea to final outcome, building confidence not just in using tools, but in expressing ideas and working creatively with others.
What they’ll explore:
-
From idea to plan – Developing ideas, storyboards, and simple plans to shape a project before filming begins.
-
Visual storytelling – Understanding how shots, scenes, and sequences work together to communicate ideas clearly.
-
Team roles and collaboration – Working in small groups, taking on roles both in front of and behind the camera, and learning how different contributions come together to shape a final outcome.
-
Editing and refinement – Reviewing footage, making choices, and improving outcomes through feedback and iteration.
Pricing
The club is invoiced per term, with the exact total depending on your school’s schedule. Sessions cost £9 per hour, and each session lasts 2 hours.
Times & Pick-up
Start and finish times vary by school. Children come directly from class, and pick-up is at the school’s usual collection point. Exact timings and arrangements will be confirmed in your place confirmation email.
Group Size & Supervision
We keep groups small, no more than 7 children per session to support collaboration, discussion, and individual guidance. This allows every child to take part fully in both creative and practical activities.
What to Bring
All equipment needed for video activities is provided. Children do not need to bring anything with them.
Food & Refreshments
All children are provided with snacks and drinks during the session, including bagels, cheese and ham, juice, biscuits, and fresh fruit. From time to time, we jazz it up and let kids try new flavours and ingredients, too.
